The development of the defense industry of Ukraine in the conditions of war and post-war recovery

Abstract

Purpose: It is to analyze the state and substantiate the advantages of Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex development in wartime conditions and military reconstruction.

Method: system analysis, generalization, synthesis.

Findings: The main problems and trends in Ukrainian defense industry in wartime conditions are identified, and the main opportunities for its development during the post-war recovery are revealed. The priorities for the development of Ukrainian defense industry are determined within the framework of changes in the approach to the defense products’ development and production.

Theoretical implications: includes aspects that are important for understanding and solving current problems in the field of the defense-industrial complex in the conditions of a war of attrition, and also identifies the main opportunities for its development during post-war recovery.

Practical implications: lies in the possibility of developing the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine in accordance with the identified priorities based on a change in the approach to the development and production of defense products.

Originality: based on the analysis of the state of the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine in the conditions of a war of attrition, the need to maintain a balance between the existing challenges facing the defense industry and an attempt to use the unprecedented opportunities for its development has been determined.
