Abstract

Purpose. To develop scientifically substantiated proposals for improving the organization of food supply for military units (subdivisions) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the preparation and conduct of combat operations, taking into account the experience of the Russian–Ukrainian war and contemporary NATO military logistics standards.

Мethod. The study employed a combination of general scientific and specialized research methods, including analysis and synthesis, systems analysis, comparative analysis, expert evaluation, diagnostic methods, and statistical processing of the results of an expert survey involving 20 specialists using Kendall’s coefficient of concordance.

Findings. The study identified the key factors influencing the organization of food supply for military units under conditions of modern warfare and substantiated the criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of food service organization models. An adaptive food supply model, an algorithm for selecting food service organization methods according to the operational and tactical situation, an improved food stock echelonment system providing up to 20 daily rations, and directions for the digitalization of logistics management were proposed.

Practical implications. The findings may be applied to improving the regulatory framework, revising military field manuals, planning logistics support for military units, training logistics officers, and implementing digital management technologies.

Research limitations. The findings are based on the analysis of regulatory documents, NATO doctrines, an expert survey, and the generalization of practical experience. The proposed solutions require further experimental validation and economic assessment.

Paper type. Empirical research article.
